Inspired by the mighty and undeterrable Powers of nature - once five young musicians gave themselves over to fullfill their plan to cast their whole inner experiences into mountainous formations of rock... Magma47 could originally be described as a stoner-Rockband like Kyuss or Queens of the Stone Age – at times influenced by certain 60's and 70's Art-Rock-Elements, which somehow became more dominant over the years. Our sound can be classified somewhere between these elements – however – it is constantly evolving, while still touching the vibe and the experimental field of KRAUTROCK!

 

History: Our current lineup was established in 2009. Till and Oli founded Magma47 in 1998 and - together with huge Theo and Dr. Vogelfutter - started to fire hot magma sounds out of the “boiler-room”. Later Roman came along, who had rocked together with Till and Oli at “Lost Junction” even before the first Magma-eruptions. Since 2002 his mighty Organ-sounds improve the characteristic soundspectrum of Magma. After short guest-performances by Timo (Mojo Jazz Mob), Marko and Dude our masterdrummer Sir Pedda (Stefan) took over the set, after he had left the crypt of the gothic-rockers “BURN”. From 2002 to 2005 the rough-and-ready Oli S. lended his voice to Magma47, 2005 to 2008 we got support from the perfect Vocal-Tube Kerstin- In spring 2009, her voice was replaced by Julia's soft yet expressive vocal chords, giving our sound a warmer, more progressive touch.

 

Geschichte (so weit...): Gestartet im Oktober 1998 -Zuerst machten nur Till, Oli O. und Dr. Vogelfutter zusammen Krach, dann kam THE O dazu. Aus dieser Zeit kam die erste EP- COYOTE SESSION. Zwei Jahre später tauschten sich Timo (MOJO JAZZ MOB) und Dr. Vogelfutter aus. Magma 47 wollte anstelle von einer typischen zweiten Gitarre lieber 'ne Schweineorgel, dass war der Punkt, an dem Roman zu Magma kam. Schweineorgel spielen. Da THE O etwas kanapp an Zeit war wurde das Mikro an den rauhbeinigen Oli S. weitergereicht. Aus dieser Zeit stammt die SUN BUMPIN APRODITE LP. Anfang 2003 ging der Timo und fand sich wieder bei den genialen MOJOs ein. Dafür kam dann ein weiterer Drummer, mit welchem die LUNAR MODULE eingespielt wurde. Ende 2003 trat Dudi ans Schlagzeug. So rockte Magma 47 bis Mitte 2005, wo unser geschätzter rauhbeiniger Freund Oli S. ausschied. Dafür kam Kerstin an den Start. Ihre Stimme wurde direkt auf die TALES FROM INNER EARTH EP gepackt. Der Magmasound läuft nun immer mehr Richtung Krautrock und beschreitet somit nach muskalischen Gesetzen die Pfade, auf denen schon Frumpy u.ä. gewandelt sind. Dudi hat im Januar 2007 Magma47 verlassen und wurde durch Herrn Stefan (Sir Pedda) am Schlagwerk ersetzt. Kerstin (jetzt bei den PIT PONYS) hat Ihr Mikro im März 09 an Julia weitergereicht, die mit Ihrer Stimme Magma einen wärmeren, progessiven Touch gibt.
